Neighborhood Da Costabuurt
Kim on Da Costabuurt
Da Costabuurt in Amsterdam is a charming, lively neighborhood in the West district, located between Kinkerstraat and Bilderdijkstraat.
During my studies, I lived here for a few years; my boyfriend had a small but nice apartment on Bilderdijkstraat. I still smile when I think about it.

A pleasant mix of old and new
The neighborhood has a pleasant mix of old and new—19th-century houses interspersed with trendy cafés and creative shops. You can also see this mix in the residents: young families alongside students and creatives. Its central location makes it an ideal base: by bike, you’re quickly in Jordaan or Vondelpark.
A lovely spot within walking distance.
On the way to work or school, I always grabbed a takeaway coffee at Mensink on the corner of Kinkerstraat. Weekend drinks were often at the terrace of Bosco on Eerste Constantijn Huygensstraat—a lovely spot within walking distance.

A walk through this neighborhood never disappoints!
Now, we still love returning to this neighborhood with our children. We stroll through our old neighborhood, always visiting Ten Katemarkt and stopping at Jutka & Riska for a vintage find. We always finish with a coffee at the place of our first date: Koffiesalon.
