Neighborhood Museum Quarter
Elise on Museum Quarter

The Museum Quarter is a neighborhood where everything comes together: art, culture, nature, and gezelligheid. Of course, the museums are fantastic—the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, and Moco Museum are all very close. The impressive art, beautiful buildings, and relaxed atmosphere make each visit special.
But there’s more than just art. Around the corner is Vondelpark—the city’s green lung. Whether you want to exercise, picnic, or relax with friends, the park is perfect. One of my favorite spots is Vondeltuin, a terrace surrounded by greenery with a great atmosphere.
De Pijp is within walking distance—a lively area full of restaurants, bars, and boutiques. Museum Quarter itself is also great for dining. Isshin is one of my favorites—a cozy “living room” style Japanese restaurant. Café Garçon is also recommended.
What I love about this neighborhood is its variety. In the morning, soak up culture in a museum, in the afternoon relax in the park, and in the evening enjoy dinner or a drink. Every visit, I discover something new: a hidden café, charming street, or small gallery.
